How Powerful is the Power Plate Roller Vibration?
First of all, when you unbox the Power Plate Roller, your first impression might be to under estimate it, as it is on the smaller side of foam rollers. However, once you turn it on and fire up the vibration, you will realize that this small roller packs a ton of power!
In terms of speed levels, the Power Plate Roller provides 4 speed options, while most vibrating foam rollers only provide 3. Firstly, I enjoyed using level one for treating my calves and for rolling my back. Secondly, Level 2 is a bit stronger, which is perfect for treating your hamstring, quads and glutes. Thirdly, Level 3 is the top setting at 3,700 vibrations per minute! The top level is powerful enough for the tightest of knots, and using it at Level 3 will really loosen all of your sore muscles.
In addition to three speed levels, the Rhythmic pulse option is an additional bonus level that alternates between Level 1 and Level 2 automatically. As a result, this simulates the varying pressure and speed you would get from a professional masseuse.
The rhythmic pulse setting really sets the Power Plate roller apart, as it allows you to enjoy a professional massage style treatment while it does all the work. I really enjoy the Rhythmic pulse setting and feel that is one of the huge perks and differentiating factors of this roller.
Firmness
First of all, the Power Plate Roller is extremely dense to the touch, so much so that the material hardly even seems like foam. Although small in size, you can feel its density upon picking it up. In fact, the Power Plate roller is so solid that won't bend to your weight.
In addition, the grooved Power Plate logo and circular designs on the roller's surface effectively provide an added massage effect. Furthermore, from a style standpoint, the grooved design just looks fantastic while in full vibration mode!
Battery Life and Charging Time
The Power Plate Roller lasts for an impressive 3 hours on one charge, and it only takes a few hours to charge. This battery life is on par to foam rollers that are twice as expensive!
How heavy or bulky is the Power Plate Roller?
At only 11.5 inches long and 4 inches in diameter, the Power Plate Roller fits easily into a backpack or gym bag. While at 2.9 lbs it is heavier than you expect, I appreciate the fact that its weight is a byproduct of its robust battery and high grade surface materials.
Due to its smaller footprint, I found it more convenient to take the Power Plate Roller with me more often than I would other foam rollers.

Is a Power Plate Roller Worth it?
After using the Power Plate Roller for the past few months, I would say that you should buy a Power Plate if you are looking to for a vibrating foam roller that will give you the most bang for your buck. In fact, this is a premium, brand name roller at a bargain price.
- 3-Speed Options + Rhythmic Pulse mode: While many rollers have 3-speed options, Power Plate has introduced an additional setting called the Rhythmic Pulse setting, which is a soothing option that automatically alternates the vibration intensity from Level 1 / Level 2. This setting is similar to how an actual masseuse would vary the intensity of a massage during treatment.
- Extremely Reasonable Price: First of all, other than buying a non-branded, generic vibrating foam roller, you simply can't find vibrating foam rollers for this price. The Power Plate Roller is a terrific value considering it is produced by a legitimate, recognized brand and it features their unique tooling and engineering.
- 20 Years of Vibration Expertise: While many companies have introduced a vibrating foam roller, Power Plate brings decades of experience in engineering vibration fitness products.
- Good Firmness: The surface of this roller is built to last and due to its density it can withstand your weight without giving into the pounds of pressure.
